| THE ISSUE: |
With the current technology available, students complete their assignments, submit and are immediately told which answers are correct and which answers are wrong without any guidance on why they were wrong.
Instead, students are given the right answers. By simply providing the right answers, students are not offered a chance to learn from their mistakes. They are never given help to discover on their own why their answers were incorrect.

| MyLanguageLabs SOLUTION: |
Need Help (Student view)
As seen in the previous screenshot, in MyLanguageLabs students are given feedback after the first attempt so that they can think critically about why they got the answer wrong.
 | If after the second attempt they still have wrong answers, the Need Help button appears at the top of the screen. |
 | When they click the Need Help button, a list of tutorials, link to the e-book and extra practice specific to the function of the activity, appears. Students can use these resources and then try the activity again. Instead of simply providing the right answer, students are given the support that they need to work through their mistakes and learn what the right answers are on their own. |
As mentioned before, instructors control whether or not these options are deployed.
