| THE ISSUE: |
|
When doing machine-graded homework activities, students don't always know why something is marked wrong, how to remedy it, or where to exactly where to find the information they need to review.
Students derive the most benefit when they receive support and help while they are doing the activities rather than days later - if and when they take the time - to ask their instructors for help.

Feedback on Machine-Graded Homework Activities (Student view)
If a response to a machine-graded activity is marked as incorrect, students receive several layers and options to avail themselves of help they need:
 | The incorrect response is accompanied by a "feedback" question which prompts them to think critically about their response. |
 |
 | If they try again and their response is still incorrect, "Need Help" takes them to the option of accessing the e-textbook, an appropriate tutorial, or opportunities for additional practice on this topic. |
 |
The result: Their homework assignments become an opportunity for learning, making them more for prepared class!(Instructors control when and how these options are deployed.)
